I bought this throw in your Sligo town branch. I really like the throw; the feel of it and its weight BUT I have issues with the purchase. These are as follows:
. We were told in the shop that it was made from pure Irish wool and made in Ireland. However on neither of the throw’s 2 labels does it say “Irish wool” or “Made in Ireland”. On the your website it does say these “Aran” throws are made in Ireland. It also says they are made with Merino wool and I know nearly all of this is imported to our islands.
. Secondly regarding the posting of the throw. I understood from your assistant in Sligo that the postage to the UK would be covered. Unfortunately it wasn’t and today I had to pay the excess in order to take delivery of it - 3 weeks after it was posted.
. Also, although the order confirmation inside the parcel had my name and address printed correctly, the address on the outside of the parcel was handwritten - scrawled (incorrectly and without my name) by someone either in pencil or biro which had faded. It was barely legible and had a question mark written beside it. You can see from the picture of the address label that the address is only written very faintly above the squiggle.
Through the order’s tracking number I received 2 updates from An Post telling me that my parcel was, (at that point), with partner handlers in the United States. It was obviously then redirected to the UK. Frankly I feel lucky to have received it at all and I absolutely would not recommend buying from this company either online or in a store if you live outside Ireland. My star rating is not for the throw but for this really stressful experience.
Beautiful. I bought the fleck colour throw. It has pride of place in my living room and everyone who visited has loved it... so much so that my neighbour just bought the natural colour aran throw for her house :-)
